I'm tired, but it might be ok 😴

Hi Reader!

I've been learning the difference between:

  1. Life feels full and fulfilling
  2. Life feels busy and exhausting

There's been a lot happening in my life lately. Good thing. Fulfilling things. Things that make almost every night of the week booked up for me.

As an extreme introvert, it's an adjustment. And I'm tired.

But I think there's a nuance to tiredness -- or at least to how we experience tiredness.

When I'm tired from things that feel worth my energy and fulfilling, I still need a nap or three, but I also feel good about it.

Being tired from just plain busyness feels like it's not worth it because you wish you could have spent your energy on something else.

Sometimes "good" tired leans too far into exhaustion, and then I need to back off and re-evaluate to take better care of myself. But the tiredness itself often isn't the issue when it's also making life feel more fulfilling.

Let me know your thoughts on this! Hit reply and let me know what kind of tiredness you might be experiencing right now.

Hi Reader! I spent the first 16 days of June adding a bit of whimsy into everyday life. Googly eyes. Check. Paper chains. Check. Glitter. Check. Kiddie pool. Check. It was super fun! Plus, I documented it all on my Instagram, if you want to get caught up. And what did I learn from this challenge? Life feels more light and joyful when you embrace little bits of childhood! It is very possible to add a little whimsy to each day -- even busy work days. With intention, 5 minutes of sticking googly...

Hi Reader! Have you ever noticed that we kind of think of spring as the transition to summer and fall as the transition to winter? It’s like summer and winter are destinations, and spring and fall are just transitions. But I freaking LOVE spring. The warm sun on your face. Everything turning green and starting to bloom. Spring is energy and joy and playfulness all in one lovely season. It’s not just a transition to summer. It stands alone with endless opportunities to savor the season. So,...
